About me

After School I became a Graphic Artist, I also painted in oils and watercolours, from a young age I always wanted to learn pottery so eventually I enrolled in the Certificate of Studio Ceramics at the Gold coast TAFE College. I passed my 3 years with Honours and was presented with the Meritorious Achievement Award.

I worked in the pottery industry on the Gold Coast, I then moved to Townsville in 1998 and worked in the Art Department at Townsville Grammar School, that’s where my love for teaching pottery began.

For me being a potter is and always has been about making a nice form and functional everyday pots that should be a joy to hold and use. By selling direct and teaching keeps me in touch with the people who buy the pots and the students who learn from me.

35 years of working in the pottery industry. I have had breaks, life sometimes get in the way of our passions, in the end we all go back to what we love and I still love pottery and teaching.
